” The Melbourne City Square holds a very special place in my heart, as it was home to the very first Brunetti store I opened over 20 years ago. Brunetti City Square was never just a store—it was a gathering place, a vibrant hub where city Melburnians came together to celebrate the joy of Italian lifestyle.
Opening the Town Hall station truly feels like coming home to where it all began. The first moment I walked through the Town Hall Metro tunnel, I was struck by a wave of nostalgia—I felt as if I had stepped into Milano’s Central Station, “stazione centrale,” and I felt profoundly privileged that Brunetti Oro is now part of this incredible evolution of the Melbourne CBD.
This store is especially close to my heart because I want to dedicate it to my twin brother, Mirko, who has passed away. I carry with me countless fond memories of the precious moments we shared together in the City Square—enjoying an aperitivo, laughing, and listening to Mirko sing. He had the most beautiful voice and loved singing in the square, filling the air with joy and life, and those memories remain with me every day.
Being here gives us the extraordinary opportunity to serve locals, commuters, and visitors right at the heart of this transformation. It’s not just a new chapter for Brunetti ORO—it’s a heartfelt continuation of a journey that started two decades ago, one that I share with the memory of my beloved brother. ” Yuri Angele.
